Jackie Frid, Director of Operations
Jackie met Dr. Hanson in 2015 and has worked alongside him from Minnesota Spine Institute’s conception in 2017.
Jackie has experience in business management and has worked in the healthcare revenue cycle management field including insurance contracting, policy, and procedure for over 20 years.
She has also mastered the art of problem solving while working in these fields.
Currently, Jackie oversees and is responsible for the clinic daily practices and she ensures that the MSI
staff and patients are happy. She coordinates the tasks behind the scenes that help make the Minnesota Spine Institute what it is today and takes pride in enhancing the care that each person
receives and experiences at the Minnesota Spine Institute.
Alicia Ickstadt, PA-C
Alicia is the newest addition to the Minnesota Spine Institute. Alicia was added to the team to assist Dr. Hanson in the operating room, new patient consultations and to enhance overall patient care.
Alicia is a recent graduate of Clarkson University with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
She has experience in Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, along with various other studies but she is most excited to work with Dr. Hanson and his team to learn more about the human spine and its conditions.
Along with being a recent newlywed, she has recently added a new puppy to her family, and she is a huge fan of Harry Potter.
In the short time that Alicia has been with us, she has already made an impact by helping Dr. Hanson with patient care, along with opening new opportunities for patients to be scheduled in clinic for initial or follow up care. She is a great asset to the MSI team and are very excited for our patients to meet her!
Melina Schneider, Patient Intake Coordinator
Melina joined the team in January of 2018 and is the first point of contact for most of our patients.
She is originally from Salt Lake City, UT and relocated to MN to raise her family. She has a certificate in medical coding and has worked in customer service her entire career.
As the rest of us, Melina is crossed trained in almost all areas of our clinic, from surgical prior authorizations to medical scribing for Dr. Hanson during patient clinic visits. She often can complete any task that is asked of her.
If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, Melina will listen to your specific symptoms and get you scheduled appropriately with Dr. Dan Hanson or his assistant, Alicia Ickstadt, PA-C.
Mai Thao, Surgery Coordinator
Mai has been a team member with Minnesota Spine Institute since December 2019. Her current role is MSI’s Surgery Coordinator. She is another friendly voice that helps our patients with their surgery scheduling and ensures that any prior authorizations are completed prior to their surgery date. She has worked in customer service most of her career and has previously worked at an ambulatory surgery center where Dr. Hanson performs surgery. When word got out that we were looking for a surgery coordinator, Mai was highly recommended by her peers and she has proven to be a great team player.
Mai is a new mom to her baby girl, and she has mastered the art of multi-tasking, which is a vital skill when working with the MSI staff. We are so happy she has joined us.
